It could be related!

Millions of people suffer from discomfort that seems unrelated to dentistry. Do you have any of these symptoms?

Tender jaw muscles, restricted jaw opening, clicking or grinding jaw joints, earaches, facial or head pain?

Dental intervention may help.

Here are some discomforts that may be dental in origin…

Temporomandibualr disorder (TMD) can create head, jaw and ear pain when the jaw joints located just in front of your ears become misaligned or traumatised or when the surrounding muscles become strained.

Chronic heavy snoring can interrupt nighttime breathing and nighttime tooth grinding.

Grinding & Clenching of Teeth causes many problems:

  • Damage to your smile
  • Increased wear of fillings and teeth
  • Damage to veneers and crowns
  • Failure of dental implants
  • Headaches
  • Jaw and neck pain
  • Increased facial muscle around the jaw

Many people clench and/or grind their teeth at night whilst asleep and do not even realise it! This is due to a tensing of the jaw muscles bringing the upper and lower teeth under immense pressure. Not only does this cause damage to your teeth but is often the cause of headaches, jaw and neck pain.

How do I know if I clench my teeth?

Do you get head aches or jaw / neck pain especially in the morning?
Have you noticed that your teeth are wearing?
Have you had damage to dental restorations e.g. crowns or fillings for no apparent reason?
Are your temples or jaw muscles tender?
Do you experience discomfort whilst chewing?
Does your jaw make a clicking sound?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the questions, clenching or grinding may be the cause. Your dentist is able to help you, ask about the SCI, made by Solutions 4 Snoring.

I had a real fear of the dentist after horrible childhood experiences. I no longer dread my visits as Mr Rosenstone understood my anxieties and reassured me. I feel safe and relaxed in his hands and I'm not frightened of the dentist anymore.

I had recently moved to the area and was in desperate need of a filling but was always scared of the dentist so I was quite apprehensive about going to a new dentist, but Dr Rosenstone and his team were just so polite and understanding, they were patient and explained the whole procedure to me. I barely notice the filling now and I feel so much better now that its done. I no longer fear my appointments now!
